Little shot of the studio at the moment. Day three, I think.
10 seconds filmed so far.
This is my first stop-motion so I’m literally just learning as I go.. Partly unbelievably fun, partly ridiculously annoying. Mostly fun though! I love it.
As you can see down the front, out of sight of the camera, are all of my tools and various eyelids, pupils, and my spare colours for repairs. It’s all a bit macabre and I usually find eyebrows and body parts stuck to my clothes at the end of the day.
So.. shooting chugs along slowly, as is the way with stop-motion.
Had a bit of a nightmare when I lost an entire days footage, but you live and learn and after a bit of a strop and a huge cup of tea I’m ready to re-shoot tomorrow. Still, this is my first ever stop-motion film and you live and learn, eh?
Anyway, here’s a grumpy John to reflect my emotions this morning!
Sherlock ready for his opening shot!
The blue screen in the background will eventually be replaced with some paintings of the cosy Baker Street interior.
The dog in the background belongs to John and hates Sherlock with a passion. His name is Conan, because calling him Arthur seemed too obvious..
The ever patient John Watson ready for his close up. Time to get animating him..
First post.. and shooting started today, so here’s Puppetlock in his deerstalker/death frisbee/ear hat.
Just found out today is Conan Doyle’s birthday.. He’s probably up there.. scowling at me.
